While we all know the holidays are going to be looking a little different this year, it’s important now more than ever to celebrate the small things. Sharing a festive and fun cocktail with my family and spending quality time together is extra special. And that’s exactly what we’ve gathered here for today!

I am so excited to be partnering with America’s #1 cocktail mix brand, Master of Mixes again this holiday season to create this super fun twist on a classic with only a few ingredients! The classic whiskey sour is a perfectly balanced cocktail with a hint of sweetness, a touch of bright acidity, and that sultry and smooth whiskey to round everything out. We’re going to take it to the next level by smoking a few cinnamon sticks for some warm smokiness. The smoking cinnamon sticks for garnish add an element of drama, too which is so fun. To keep things extra simple, it’s only made with a few ingredients so you can shake up cocktails in no time. We start with Master of Mixes Sweet 'n Sour Mixer, which is made with two types of fragrant California lemons and simple syrup to create a perfectly balanced sweet and sour mix and then we add a nice whiskey or bourbon. Add a couple fun garnishes and that’s it! The result is a perfectly delicious and hand-crafted and bar-worthy cocktail made right at home, a place we’re all spending more time at lately.

Master of Mixes has also put together a Winter Survival Essentials, which includes the Sweet ‘n Sour Mixer along with Margarita and Strawberry Daiquiris and Margarita Mixers to keep the party going all winter long. And as a special treat, Master of Mixes has a discount code just for all of you! Use code TAYLOR15 at checkout for 15% off your very own Winter Survival Essentials variety pack!

I hope you’ll give this simple and delicious cocktail a try and Happy Holidays, friends!

Smoked Cinnamon Whiskey Sour

serves 1

2 oz whiskey or bourbon
2 oz Master of Mixes Sweet 'n Sour Mixer
2 cinnamon sticks
large strip of orange peel

In a cocktail shaker, combine the whiskey, Master of Mixes Sweet ‘n Sour Mixer, and ice. Light one end of each of the cinnamon sticks until smoking. Extinguish the flame, set one aside and drop the other into the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds, until the outside of the cocktail shaker is very cold. Add ice to a glass and pour the cocktail over a small strainer into the glass, to catch any small pieces of the smoked cinnamon stick. Garnish with the strip of orange peel and remaining smoked cinnamon stick, briefly lighting it again if you’d like so that it’s smoking when you present it. Enjoy!
