Christmas Cookie Roundup!

Christmas Cookie Roundup! | All Purpose Flour Child

With all the festive holiday baking in full swing, I thought I’d put together a round up of all my favorite cookies and bars to bake this season! Enjoy and happy baking! What’s your favorite thing to bake around the holidays?

Cocoa + Orange Crackle Cookies | All Purpose Flour Child

Cocoa + Orange Crackle Cookies

I love the combination or chocolate and orange, do you? These little cookies taste just like those chocolate oranges wrapped in foil. You know, the ones you whack open. The cookies have a crispy, crackly exterior and they’re tender and soft inside. Rich with chocolaty flavor and accentuated with a citrus punch and drizzled in more chocolate for ultimate decadence.

Mulling Spice + Orange Marmalade Thumbprint Cookies | All Purpose Flour Child

Mulling Spice + Orange Marmalade Thumbprint Cookies

These cookies were inspired by the tasting notes of Starbucks Christmas Reserve a few years ago when I was putting together a coffee tasting for work. The warm and cozy mulling spices are perfect with the tart and citrusy orange marmalade dolloped in the center. One of my favorites for sure.

Gingerbread Whoopie Pies with Cranberry Curd Buttercream | All Purpose Flour Child

Gingerbread Whoopie Pies with Cranberry Curd Buttercream

These little morsels are so fun. Soft and springy gingerbread cakes rich with molasses and spices sandwich sweet and tangy cranberry curd buttercream. So perfect for this time of year! And bonus: they’re like really pretty.

Malted Butterscotch Chip Cookies | All Purpose Flour Child

Malted Butterscotch Chip Cookies

You may not think of these as a typical holiday cookie but man are they addictive. These are one of the most requested cookies I make. They are sweet and caramelly tasting with a nice balance of flaky salt on top and the malt powder adds the most delicious chewy texture and nutty flavor.

Seattle Fog Snowball Cookies | All Purpose Flour Child

Seattle Fog Snowball Cookies

These are my take on a snowball cookie with my version of a London fog flavor. These buttery, crumbly cookies are flavored with espresso and lavender and tossed in lavender sugar for full snow effect. These cookies seem to have many names: Russian Tea Cakes, Mexican Wedding Cookies, Snowballs, the list goes on. No matter what you call them, they’re delicious.

Eggnog Cheesecake Bars with Biscoff Cookie Crust | All Purpose Flour Child

Eggnog Cheesecake Bars With Biscoff Cookie Crust

If you love eggnog, these are for you. They are very easy to make and unlike a traditional cheesecake, pretty hard to mess up. You bake up the cookie crust then pour over a rich eggnog-flavored cheesecake batter. The result is creamy sweet and tangy filling atop a crispy, buttery, spiced crust. Perfect for a party.

Brown Butter Hawaij-Spiced Snickerdoodles | All Purpose Flour Child

Brown Butter Hawaij-Spiced Snickerdoodles

These are a snickerdoodle with the volume turned up, as Ina would say. The brown butter adds so much rich, delicious nutty flavor and all the warm spices make it feel more special than your ordinary snickerdoodle.

Bay Leaf + Pecan Millionaire Shortbread Bars | All Purpose Flour Child

Bay Leaf + Pecan Millionaire Bars

These are a fun twist on an already winning bar: the millionaire bar or rich man’s Twix. It starts with a shortbread base that’s been studded with toasted pecans, followed by a velvety layer of caramel that’s been infused with the subtle but unmistakable flavor of bay leaf and crowned with rich dark chocolate.
