My Sleep Essentials for the Best Beauty Sleep

My Sleep Essentials for the Best Beauty Sleep | All Purpose Flour Child

I love this quote.  Did you know it's National Sleep Awareness Week?  Who knew there was such a thing, right?  I thought it would be a great opportunity to share with you some of my favorite sleep essentials in my nightly routine that help me get my best night's sleep.  Admittedly, I never get quite as much sleep as I'd like, but that's probably more to do with getting sucked into Netflix or scrolling through my Instagram feed.  The struggle is real.  But I digress.  Here are my favorite sleep essentials.  How do you get your best night's sleep?  Tell me in the comments!

Cozy Bedding

Cozy bedding is the creme de la creme of getting a good night's sleep.  There's nothing quite like snuggling into silky soft sheets and being enveloped in a fluffy comforter.  I've been eyeing  these and these from Crane & Canopy.  So pretty and easy on the wallet, too!

Blackout Curtains

I really only get to enjoy the benefits of  these on the weekends since I'm up before the sun on weekdays but they are the best for keeping your bedroom pitch black until you're ready to wake up and start your day.

Tranquil Dream Tea

I've shared this tea before, but it's seriously the best nighttime tea I've ever tried.  Sipping on this calming blend of chamomile, lemongrass, and orange petals is the perfect way to wind down before bed.

Melatonin

I swear by this stuff.  Your body creates melatonin naturally when the sun goes down and it starts to get dark outside but some people who have irregular sleep schedules, as people who work graveyard, may be melatonin deficient.  I take it because it helps me stay asleep, have deep sleep, and wake feeling well-rested.  It does give you crazy dreams, though.  And one little disclaimer: it only works if your body is melatonin-deficient.  Here's some more information if you're curious.

Calming Pillow Mist

Certain essential oils can help your brain calm down and  relax so you can drift off to sleep peacefully.  I spritz my pillow with a blend of lavender, chamomile, and vetiver every night.  Learn to make your own  here!

Sleep Mask

Same idea as the blackout curtains, but when a sneaky ray of light still manages to find its way into my room, this is my saving grace.  This one is so comfortable too.
